Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend. How about head outdoors and visit one of the dozens of national parks within a few hours drive from the San Francisco Bay Area; for free.
Ever year the U.S. National Park Service waves entry fees for their parks on special weekends. This Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend entry fees are tossed aside. The next time the Parks Service offers free entry is in April.
So pile the kids in the car and head off to Muir Woods, Yosemite, San Francisco Maritime piers, or the Redwood National Forest.
